Sociology

How can deviance prompt social change?

Today we discussed the various types & consequences of crime. We began by sharing our homework assignment (1 news article highlighting deviant behavior) in class. We discussed the possible reasons & results of the explained behavior.
Then we finished the sentence, "There ought to be a law against..." in our journals. We discussed our responses in class & acknowledged that because societies change laws/norms should change as well.
We took notes along with a powerpoint to discuss crime. We analyzed crime statistics by comparing NYC's current crime risk with that of Clemson's, SC's, & the whole of the U.S.

Homework
: Complete worksheet on material from our lesson on crime. Refer to pgs. 187-197 in your textbook.
