At the beginning of class we took our map quiz over the Mediterranean Region during the Roman Republic. We discussed & graded them in class.
We briefly reviewed our notes about the government in Rome & then discussed their territorial & trade expansion. This led us to the Punic Wars....fought between Carthage & Rome. We will finish our notes on the Punic Wars on Thursday & fill in a timeline about them.
Exit Work: How was Hannibal's attack on Rome daring & different?

Psychology
Your graded tests were returned today. Those of you who did not make at least an 80% need to re-test tomorrow @ 2pm.
We discussed the depth perception of babies & examined the "Visual Cliff" experiment conducted in the 1960s. Then we attempted to translate a passage with unfamiliar words to test our receptive language capabilities. We discussed what type of language forms in a child as they age. Then we looked at a case study, "The Cae of Genie." where a child was neglected and then treated to develop language skills. We answered 3 questions about the case study & turned them in during class.
For homework a handout was given about chapter 3 section 1 - this is due Tuesday, September 14.
