Global I - B schedule

Today we picked up where we left off on Friday with our discussion on the Chinese education system.
We evaluated the possible responsed of the question, "Should the US have an education system like China's?" We divided into groups and argued either for or against this education system.

Then, we briefly reviewed our knowledge of the early Chinese dynasties and we took notes along with a powerpoint on the Zhou Dynasty.
Mapwork was assigned today. There will be a map quiz over Asia on Thursday, October 29.
Also, please be prepared for a future quiz on the dynasties we've discussed thus far.

Global I - A schedule

Today we examined an aspect of Chinese culture -- education.

We read an article about a freshman student in China & examined the differences between Chinese & American education systems. After we read, we answered questions with our table partners & discussed the pros & cons of having an education system like the one in China.
Then, we held a debate in class, arguing for or against an education system like China's in the United States.

Assigned homework: complete worksheet River Dynasties in China (pg. 19-20).
