Freshman Seminar

Today we received a packet of instructions for our Career Research Project. We went over the requirements for the project & discussed deadlines. We looked at the first component - interviews. In class, we discussed interview tips, ideal questions, & interview requirements.

Using the skills and information from this quarter you will create a Career Research Notebook.
You will research careers that interest you & compile your results in a Portfolio.
Three main parts to project:

• Portfolio
• PowerPoint
• Presentation in front of class

In your portfolio you will have:
3 Interview Transcripts
Kuder Assessment Results
CSE of 250+ words for interviews
Cornell notes from 3 sources
PowerPoint handout

Important Due Dates:

Notebook with cover and dividers ~ 9/29
Interviews 1-3 transcripts (Q-Notes) ~ 9/29
CSE drafts completed (will work on in class) ~ 9/29
CSE drafts read by 2 people (including 1 parent) ~ 10/4
Research deadline (last M.C. day) ~ 10/8
Final product due ~ 10/18
Presentations will be 10/18 and 10/20
