We began our lesson on Academic Integrity by watching several video clips about cheating & honor codes.
We took notes as we watched, listening for key words & concepts. Then we used a Summary Response handout to write a summary about 2 of the 4 videos. From our notes, we developed discussion questions. We compared questions with our partner & tried to answer them. Then we shared our questions in class which led to a discussion on why people cheat, how people cheat, & what can be done to keep you from being tempted to cheat.
Then we brainstormed traits of an effective discussion & compiled them on the whiteboard. We compared those traits to things that can "kill" a good discussion.
We will continue with our examination of integrity on Friday.
